Reggie Strickland fought 2031 rounds, losing 273 bouts over a seventeen year career. This work is intended to eulogise the finite space in which a fighters performance enters the permanent record. There is a reverence in the ring, given the clarity of purpose that brings a human being back again and again. I wanted to create an object that is both monument and tragedy, as every bout must become.
