Day 18 - Monday September 26
Day 18 - Monday September 26
2016

I woke up at 630am to a lovely crescendo of hoiking and spitting coming from the construction workers next door. They’ve been at it the whole time we’ve been here but this morning was something special like a real stubborn oyster at the back of his throat. I got up and made a coffee and breakfast, we were planning on heading over to the farm to do some Tai Chi with Janet, Eugenia’s mum but it’s raining and I don’t want to get soggy outside. We canned the idea and I hung out with Justin for a bit before heading back to my usual spot on the giant couch to do some more writing. I went over my grant for a bit, tweaking bits and splicing it down to the character count with as much info as I can fit. Silja and Kristina have gone into 798 to install their show so it’s just Yenzu and us today. We had a lovely lunch and chatted with Yenzu on WeChat about what a legend she is. After lunch I tried unsuccessfully to have a Skype meeting but it wasn’t happening and we rescheduled for tomorrow. I started writing my wedding speech in the afternoon and going back to poke my grant. Around 5pm Justin and I decided to head out for a bit of a cycle on a couple of bikes we spotted upstairs. We got pretty stuck in the mud just around the corner and Justin’s gears stopped working, getting totally stuck on the lowest possible setting. Our fun afternoon cycle turned into a bit of an ordeal, Justin’s bike turned into a useless object, I didn’t really want to swap because I was being selfish and we got all muddy. We crawled our way back to Shen’s and spent a while cleaning the bikes up and lamenting how unrewarding that little jaunt was. That was my exercise for the day unfortunately. We had a lovely dinner with Yenzu who is also an amazing cook and hung out chatting via WeChat for a while, the translator tool is super useful. Afterwards I did some more writing and planning works while Justin worked on his new Carrion mask. And then we all went to bed.
