Campbelltown Arts Centre presents the first major exhibition by artist Myuran Sukumaran and a series of responsive newly commissioned artworks by leading Australian artists entitled Another Day in Paradise. Facilitated and collaboratively driven through close friend and mentor Ben Quilty, this curated exhibition presents a vast and sobering series of powerful portraits by Myuran Sukumaran which were painted during his incarceration at Bali's (Indonesia) Kerobokan jail.
Alongside the artworks by Sukumaran, Campbelltown Arts Centre will commission a series of artworks with the intention of exploring and responding to the death penalty and profiling human rights through the multiple layers of social justice systems globally. Another Day in Paradise brings to light the importance of forgiveness and compassion for humanity while proving the profound power of art to change lives.
